Sunwayfoto T2541CE + EB-36 Review

A good tripod is always the faithful ally of every landscape photographer. During my experience, over the years I have tried many of them, from the heaviest and most stable to the lightest and most travel-friendly in search of different solutions to my needs. But recently I had the opportunity to try out a tripod that perfect convey the needs of a travel landscape photographer like me, I am talking about , I am talking about the Sunwayfoto T2541CE carbon fiber. This is a tripod designed for photographers who need a stable and versatile support for their cameras without sacrifice anything in terms of lightweight. It is part of the Explorer series from Sunwayfoto, which focuses on providing lightweight yet durable tripods for outdoor and travel photography

The T2541CE is made of high-quality carbon fiber, which makes it extremely lightweight and durable, it weighs only 1.2kg (2.6lbs) and has a maximum load capacity of 12kg (26lbs), which is more than enough for most cameras and lenses, in fact it manages to load all my heavier composition without problems (Nikon D850 + 70-200 F2,8). The carbon fiber legs are also resistant to temperature changes, which makes them perfect for use in extreme weather conditions

The tripod has a maximum height of 159cm (62.6 inches) when fully extended, and a minimum height of 10cm (3.9 inches) when the legs are fully spread out. The legs have three adjustable angles, which allow for low-level shots and uneven terrain. One of the standout features of the T2541CE is its compact size when folded down. It measures only 44cm (17.3 inches) when folded, which makes it easy to pack and transport. The tripod also comes with a padded carrying bag for added protection

The Sunwayfoto T2541CE features a ball head that can rotate 360 degrees, tilt 90 degrees, and pan smoothly. In this regard, in my configuration I chose the EB-36 ball head, another excellent product by Sunwayfoto, this is a quality ballhead designed for who require precision and stability in their work and fits perfectly with the carbon fiber T2541CE

The EB-36 Ballhead

The EB-36 is made of CNC-machined aluminum, which makes it extremely lightweight yet sturdy. It weighs only 270g  and has a maximum load capacity of 10kg, which is more than enough for most cameras and lenses. The ballhead also features a black anodized finish, which gives it a sleek and professional look. The ballhead has a maximum tilt angle of 90 degrees and can rotate 360 degrees, which makes it perfect for panoramic shots. It also features a locking knob that controls the ballhead’s movement, which allows for precise adjustments. The EB-36 also has a separate locking knob for the panning base, which makes it easy to switch from portrait to landscape orientation

The EB-36 ballhead features a quick release system that is compatible with Arca-Swiss plates, which makes it easy to attach and detach the camera. The quick release plate is also equipped with a safety lock, which prevents accidental release of the camera. One of the standout features of the EB-36 ballhead is its friction control system, which allows the photographer to adjust the amount of friction on the ballhead. This feature is especially useful when using heavy lenses or when shooting in windy conditions, as it allows for more precise adjustments and reduces the risk of camera shake

Test in the Field

I tried to shoot both vertically and horizontally positions, in both poses the EB-36 proved to be a very stable head thanks to the supplied key which allowed me to tighten the heavy equipment and keep it steady in the vertical pose. Horizontally, I especially appreciated the ease of panning movement with the convenient key always present on the head.

Regarding T2541CE  I placed the legs on different surfaces and heights depending on the chosen positions, they gave me an excellent feeling of stability and mobility. The carry on the location was easy, the tripod is very light but nevertheless remains stable even for heavier weights, in general, the excellent quality of the construction materials is reflected accordingly on the pitch.

 

 

Conclusions

I really appreciated for both products the great design and the optimal quality fabric, although some levers could guarantee a more fluid and rapid movement for both of these products the construction materials contribute to ensuring that you have a product of great durability and professionalism in your hand. Overall the Sunwayfoto T2541CE is a well-designed and versatile tripod that is perfect for outdoor and travel photography, a very well made product perfect for outdoor and travel photography. The EB-36 ballhead it an excellent choice for those who demand the best from their equipment. Both products are a great choice for professional use in a relatively affordable price
