Beyond the Hills
For my last post on the island of Ischia, I propose again a shot made in Sant’angelo district, certainly one of the most beautiful of the island. I stood on top of a large rock which is just a continuation of the beach that you can see on the right to take this picture. Is exactly the opposite point of my first posts about Sant’Angelo that you can find here. The whole area has a beautiful sunset hiding beyond the hills but at the same time, sunset lights disappears soon because covered.
WORKFLOW EXPLANATION
I made several shots in bracketing mode: a few different times with the strongest light, others with weaker light after the sun was covered but in the end I focused on a middle ground that represents moment where the sun was near to hide behind the hill. Neverthless I made several shots, this image is from a single RAW, the reason for this choice is that I was satisfied of the picture and did not find it necessary to use the other exposures… For a once I made life easier 🙂
So I processed the image mainly with Camera Raw, making corrections on the white balance, contrast, lights and shadows. A cool colorfull light was added with Color Efex Pro, I raised the highlights to increase the glow effect behind the hill and a small Orton Effect to the frame. I increased the details and reduced the same part on the water.
