Long Way Home
This is a shot taken outside the walls of San Gimignano, in this area, it is possible to see the view of the typical hills of this part of the Italy is one of the most characteristic places in the area.
I made this shot from San Gimignano lookout on a cloudy day during the morning, it was my last shot on this area before get back into the car and go back home
WORKFLOW EXPLANATION
The first thing I did was crop the photo, in fact, the image you see is the result of a crop within a larger scene where there were other houses and trees that I have decided to remove from the frame. The central view of the hills was definitely what I wanted to portray, but I could not do it shooting cause I had with me just wide angle 🙂
Then I made a color correction to change color cast of this image, which will be the subject of my next tutorial, so stay tuned! I applied dodge and burn through the trees and the most darken areas, with TTS Fast Panel I launched orton effect to give to the hills and a soft glow effect with a bit of contrast. After adding details in the whole frame I adjusted contrast and this is it!
I hope you will find this information usefull, if you have any tips or comments, write it as well. I love to hear it from you 🙂
