Another picture from the beautiful sunset in Oia Santorini. The timing is approximately ten minutes after the first image¬†I posted. This photo is a particular of the famous mill of Oia and of the houses around. To get this, I did not take a shot on 35 / 40mm as needed but what did a picture crop to 24mm to catch the best from my 14-24mm Nikon definitely higher as the other basic I have. The final result satisfy me very much cause I think that the village and their white houses are the best from this place, you don’t think? ūüôā

I made 5 shots for this picture but twice discarded, so I used only 3. After a manual blending of the images to arrange exposure, lights and shadows, as in the previous photo I made a big work to remove people shooting the sunset.

Oia Sunset

The famous as beautiful sunset in Oia, Santorini. Personally, the most beautiful sunset and exciting I’ve ever photographed, not surprisingly, the place in August was very full of people everywhere over each other trying to capture a sunset. To take this shot I come on my place around 3 hours before, around the sun goes down I was surrounded by hundred people ūüôā

To figure out how many people were in the village of Oia just look carefully along the streets of the village, you will notice a human chain along the entire route of the roads. Once at home I made a very big job of editing on this picture. I wanted a wide photo but with a little more defined to the village and in the center, so I decided to make a partial crop to focus more towards the center and remove part of the walls of the houses that were within the frame. But the main difficulty was to eliminate and reduce the visual impact of the hundreds of people who had in the frame, in addition to the elimination of antenna that I was in front and I could not erase in any way except with Photoshop. From thecomparison you can better understand what I mean

The Black Sand Sunset

This¬†is the Kamari beach¬†in Santorini, it was very nice to see the powerful light of sunset tick from the mountain with the typical colors of the blue hour. Kamari is one of the¬†places of Santorini where you can find restaurants, bars but also good beach… here the beach is made of very small black rocks renamed precisely Black Sand Beach. That day I was going to dinner and I was without my tripod, so I made this picture by a single shot, pointing to the rocks my camera focus with a f4 and a ISO higher¬†of my usual average. In Photoshop I have tried to emphasize the yellow¬†colors, “bringing back”¬†the time behind the blue hour that there was at that time. If you want to see how to intensify the yellow or golden hour look¬†this tutorial. I also sharpen more than i could, the rocks and the foreground.

Thira Glory

Giuseppe Sapori - Thira Glory

One shot from the beautiful Thira, the capital of the incredible island of Santorini, taken during the sunset. Included among the goals of my trip to Greece, this island was probably one of my favorite destinations in recent years. Santorini is famous for its magnificent sunsets and this is just one of many that I could take pictures during my stay. During this shot I was on top of the town of Thira, the sun plunged into the sea every day and there was nothing more of spectacular for me.

For this picture I took this picture with three exposures facing the sun, holding my camera handheld, at home I arranged the image with Photoshop using the luminance masks, I improved the contrasts, highlights, and create a more striking effect of the colors of the sunset.

The Time Stuck - Summer Tour

Finally has arrived the moment of my summer vacation, in the 99.99% of cases this coincides with a good time where I can take a lot of photos. This year I chose Greece, is a long time I wanted to go there and finally I was able to arrange for this year.

I have attached a map with all the stages I visit, I describe the journey ūüėÄ

–¬†I will arrive with the flight to Thessaloniki where from there I will move immediately by bus in the central area you see, where I will visit Trikala, Kalambaka and Meteora.¬†I will finally be able to visit the Meteora, a beautiful place, a world heritage site where very special shrines stand on top of the mountains. It will be very difficult to visit them all, but definitely not miss the breathtaking views

–¬†After the visit to the central area, also in the bus, I will return to Thessaloniki, where he will visit the city for 3 days.¬†Particularly it attracts me the White Tower, the Arch of Galerius and the Basilica of St. Sofia

–¬†From Thessaloniki I take a domestic flight to go to Santorini. The island needs no introduction, is one of the most fascinating islands of Greece, I have already pointed Oia and its beautiful sunsets …

– Last place¬†but no less beautiful is Ios, I’m going to enjoy sea during these days and take time to look for some interesting glimpse of the sea.

Lastly I do not exclude the possibility of handing me to some other place in those areas that I mentioned, I hope I have time for handing me toward some day trip, especially during the period that I will be in Thessaloniki and Ios.

I take this opportunity to greet you and to wish happy holidays to all, status updates will be available on the Facebook page you find Here
