Hello guys, during my weekend in Milan I had also time for the classic site of the city,  the Duomo. This is a gigantic Cathedral which is located in the main square of the city. The Duomo of Milan is the main tourist attraction of the city, much visited, very big and beautiful. Inside this cathedral, photography it is quite difficult cause this is a cathedral of Gothic style with high ceilings and dark walls as well as tacky tourists at all hours of the day, tripods within cannot be used and thus inevitably make the final result very difficult.
In return the Milan Cathedral has one of the most beautiful terraces of the city, until a few years ago, before the construction of the Porta Nuova and its skyscrapers, where we talked about in previous posts neighborhood, was the highest point of the city. I took several photos in this location including this evocative detail of one of the arches making up the tip of the Duomo. I relized this image from a Photoshop collage, using “vertorama”, I took three exposures for the part of the canopy that makes up the foreground and 3 other exposures to high, then part I combined the images with the Photoshop function, then I realized the main interventions with Camera Raw, various application for my actions, LAB coloring and Dodge & Burn will soon be my new tutorial 🙂

The City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia that you see represented in one of its halls, was for me the main purpose of my trip to Valencia. For this reason I went to this place twice to be sure of being able to take advantage of the right light in the sky and various weather conditions, I have to say that the first day in the evening the sky was beautifully overcast and after an exploratory phase of the city Calatrava I decided to pause and do some shooting in this place,  in my opinion is one of the most characteristic. I recommend everyone to visit the city of arts and sciences because it is attractive as well as very funny, indeed inside the City of Arts and Sciences offers many attractions for young and old in the physical and scientific topic to explore interactively.
Coming to the picture: it was taken by a bridge which is right in front of the building of the city of arts and sciences, is a good view which allows to shot full architectural features. I made five exposures, which I worked from the under exposure to the over exposure lighting it with luminance masks, I used my actions (which for those who does not still have I suggest you download them in the free downloads section) to increase golden hour, sharpening, details and reduce noise. For the last touch I set the saturation of colors with the LAB coloring technique.

I take several photos in this place, follow updates I just hope not to bore you 🙂

The terrace of Metropol Parasol in Seville where you can admire a beautiful view of the city. The wooden structure extends for tens of meters across the square, the sight is very impressive and special. The structure is perforated to allow air to circulate in summer days (since it is very hot in Seville). The Metropol Parasol is also a huge “umbrella” that protects passers by direct sunlight so the structure is beautiful, but also functional and practical.

I realized 5 exposures in this photo, just like the previous one, the difference is that this image has been realized a few minutes later, so the sun was lower and lower was the light … which is why I discard the most underexposed because too dark, taking advantage of the other 4 exposures for the necessary corrective action of light, shadow, contrast and detail with Photoshop CC

How to Increase Details Selectively

Tags :

The selective application of digital Photoshop editings are now a crucial prerequisite in contemporary digital photography. This applies not only to details but to all those kinds of interventions that affects our images; so them  colors, details, lights, contrasts etc… To obtain a good image is therefore essential to know how to master the application of selective elements, details in this case are a factor of particular importance for the selective application. Let’s see how to do it:

– Duplicate Layer

– Select Black and White adjustment layer

– Change the Blending mode in Hard Light

– Go to Filters>Others>High Pass  and put radius as follow

Schermata 2015-11-25 alle 20.48.10

Now create a layer mask and fill it with black color MAC (Cmd+I) PC(Ctrl+I).

Your layer mask will be look like this. Black mask has the effect of hide the High Pass filter applied.

Schermata 2015-11-25 alle 20.48.30

Now select the White Brush and set the opacity aroud 30% (you can set an higher value for a stronger effect).

By painting the various elements, you are selectively showing the details in the affected areas 🙂

In September I started exploring some areas looking for a place to photograph the Milky Way, since I had time until October to see it. So I start explore the area of Gran Sasso – Abruzzo an afternoon in late September located in Campo Imperatore where is an astronomical observatory. In the plain of Campo Imperatore it’s possible to admire a beautiful view of the mountains, the other ( behind my shot ) is located  the astronomical observatory and the Hotel Campo Imperatore, red coloured to be visible during the harsh winters of snow. During my tour, I scoured log cabins that serve the explorers to shelter from the cold during the crossings and this is one of those, A peaceful, greeny mountain landscape, il the result.

I shot 5 exposures for this picture, but I’ve only used 3, starting from the darker one. Indeed  the light was still too high and usually shooting always times close at dusk, so I started using the underexposed image using the others to bring up on light and detail. In this image I used the color lookup function to give greater emphasis to the greens and shades of sky.

Giuseppe Sapori - Meteora Sky

Hello to all guys I’m back from my trip in Greece that I posted in my previous post. I visited so many beautiful places and start from the very beginning of my trip. Meteora with the meteors are an amazing place, beautiful and full of magic with their aura of mysticism of the sanctuaries, to be meteors not only admire a beautiful landscape and an important UNESCO heritage site but also a place that makes you think, a magical and enchanting . There are 6 monasteries around, Agios Nikolaos, Agios Stefanos Aghia Triada, Great Meteoron, Roussanou and Varlaam. I visited all of them but I am not going boring you to tell you about each one but the panorama you see in this picture is taken from Roussanou, my favorite, small and middle where you can admire the most beautiful view of Meteora, this is just a taste will be followed by many others 🙂

TECHNICAL STUFF

I had 5 shots and I merged with the function automate Photoshop, it is time that I do not use this technique to create the HDR but this time it seemed necessary caused by the glow behind the mountains of Meteora. I created many shadows in the foreground area, while having the function of my Nikon D-Lighting at most, I had to lighten considerably shadows with Camera Raw.

The Antiquarium is a gallery inside of the Royal Palace Residenz in Munich. It is the largest and most lavish Renaissance interior north of the Alps and contains 16 beautiful pictures along the top of the vault are the work of the Munich court painter Peter Candid and show allegories of Fame and Virtue in the form of seated female figures. This hall is the oldest room of the München 66 meters long. Make this picture no one was very difficult, in fact, there was a continuous passage of people along the corridor dell’Antiquarium, I had to take some time and several shots to get all the frames needed to unleash the corridor.

The Holy House

The interior of the Sanctuary of Loreto, the building you see in white behind the candlestick is the famous Holy House. The tradition of the Holy House say that, in 1291, when the Crusaders were expelled permanently from Palestine, the brick walls of the house of the Virgin Mary were transported “for angelic ministry”. What you see depicted in white is nothing more than the outside of the house, inside it is not allowed to take pictures that although it is not so gorgeous, indeed quite simple affects its history and its beaufiful mystical charm.

Taking this photo was not at all easy, in fact many of the tourists, the faithful and pilgrims came out and entered the house as well, I had to do a job of shots of overlap between the pictures that I had taken with fewer people.

Giuseppe Sapori - Sea StepAnother photo at sunset from the beach of Split. During my stay in Croatia, in the evening I often did a walk on the beach drinking some beer and have a talk. In those days almost every evenings.
I wandered to the seafront in search of sights and interesting details. Honestly I have not yet figured out what is this thing that stretches along the coast. 🙂 I only know that giving some movement to the photo and the view. Regarding the editing I made five exposures to reach the final result that I worked primary  on brightness and contrast. Now I work  exclusively in Photoshop CC loading exposures as layers and processing them with layer masks.

Last in the series of photos taken inside the Doria Pamphili Palace. This image depicts the main corridor, lit by large windows is one of the most iconic images of the Roman palace. To take this HDR I had to wait a lit bit that there were people as this is the most photographed part of the building. HDR was also made with the 32-bit mode from single shot
